CAE is a global leader in simulation and training technologies, specializing in training solutions for civilian pilots, armed forces, and healthcare professionals. The company designs and develops state-of-the-art flight simulators used by renowned organizations worldwide.

In a context of intense international competition, CAE wanted to increase the online visibility of its civil flight training simulators. The main objective of the mandate was to strengthen the company’s website’s search engine optimization (SEO) to attract a greater volume of qualified visitors and improve the organic discoverability of its products in search engines.

Project Challenges

CAE’s website had a complex architecture, with numerous sections and URL structures poorly optimized for indexing. A new section dedicated to civil flight simulators had recently been launched, but suffered from a lack of inbound links, limiting its organic visibility.

Since the target product was technical and specialized in nature, the SEO strategy had to be adapted to various search intents depending on the segment (civil, military, government), while respecting the brand’s tone of voice.

Finally, the international scope of the project required a rigorous multilingual approach, adapted to the linguistic and competitive specificities of each market.

Deployed Solutions

The first step consisted of mapping all existing content and recommending a targeted overhaul of the URL structure, tags, and structure of the new flight simulator section. On-page optimization work was carried out on priority pages, including semantic enrichment, title tag optimization, and meta descriptions tailored to target markets.

At the same time, a series of technical interventions were carried out to remove indexing obstacles, including correcting redirect errors, misconfigured canonical tags, and certain directives blocking search engine crawling. These adjustments improved page coverage in Google Search Console.

Finally, an internal and external linking plan was implemented to strengthen the section’s authority. This included repositioning internal links from high-visibility pages and recommending inbound link acquisition from strategic partners in the aerospace industry.

Results

In six months, the strategy deployed resulted in measurable and sustainable SEO gains. More than 65 links from targeted and qualified external domains were acquired, strengthening the authority of the new flight simulator section.

Organic impressions for this section increased by 141%, demonstrating a significant improvement in search engine visibility. At the same time, organic traffic to these pages increased by 49%, generating an increased volume of qualified visits and new business opportunities for CAE.
